Join third graders as they learn economic objectives by creating their own mini society. Students design their own money and receive payments for doing jobs. Finally, market day arrives. You will see students buying and selling goods and services they created. Students were assessed by observing the interaction and use of economic terms as they participated in market day. Students also created a class book writing about their experiences.

ReplyDeleteI like how interactive and hands-on the projects are. These students will carry these memories with them for a long time.
ReplyDeleteStudents will love to look at this site.
ReplyDeleteEconomics is such a hard concept unless you can really experience being a producer and consumer~ your mini societies really let the kids become both! Great idea and I would love to come visit next time :)
ReplyDeleteI especially love the videos! What a wonderful way to teach the difficult concept of economics, and the students had so much fun! (I was lucky enough to see this in action.)
ReplyDeleteThe students are truly learning about economics in a fun way. It's so important that the students can verbalize what they've learned and how it applies to their lives.
