What do fables, figurative language, and formative assessment have in common?
While I wouldn’t consider myself a grasshopper because this teacher does work hard in preparing her students for the SOL’s, she hadn’t woken up to the new trends in assessment until taking a UVA class in the summer of 2006. That’s when this ant began to assess differently.
Prepare a lesson that includes all fourth grade language arts SOL’s, offers choices to students, therefore energizing the little ants to work hard!

I love your examples of student created work. I especially like the student created quizdom questions. Writing questions is a great way to see what your students know and understand, and then the quizdom game itself can be used as a formative assessment. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of a wiki to share both teacher materials and student work!
