Using the PALS program and an activity called, Slip and Slide Letters, students are able to line up magnetic letters and spell certain words going down the slide towards the pool. They can then exchange the letters/words with other students to see if they can do the same thing. This allows the teacher to assess what blends and chunks of letter combinations the students are mastering or need further help with.
