Alphabet Soup - Kindergarten's Adventure into Word Study

Join Kindergarten as they learn the process of Word Study. You will see the many activities that are incorporated in the Word Study process. The students narrate photos as we take you on a tour of picture sorts, letter sorts, concept of word practice with pointers, partner open sorts, and other formative assessment tactics used within the Word Study program.

  21. One word: WOW!!! Great use of word study in Kindergarten. It is clear from the students' narration that they understand why this is important and how it's helping them become more literate :) Hope some other Kindergarten teachers will come to do a peer observation so we can get this rolling system-wide! It truly makes so much sense and is best for kids!!!
