Second grade at East Salem assesses for learning using various technologies, graphic organizers, kinesthetic approaches, and multiple classroom management strategies.
I'm glad to see you using Qwizdom with your second graders! This is great way to keep the students engaged while giving you immediate feedback regarding their understanding.
I like the pinch card idea. I often do "show me" word card activities so I can check my students individually during whole group instruction. This would help me when I am in a "pinch" for time and instead of me making them, they can make their own.
I'm a first year teacher and love the simple idea of using thumbs up/down. What a great way to assess students knowledge without a lot of prep time. I will definitely use this strategy! Also like the number people idea - very interactive!
